Yale College is excited to launch the Yale College Peer Leaders program. Starting in January 2026, the many paid peer leadership and mentorship opportunities for students in Yale College will come together in one coordinated structure. With a unified application opening on January 19, 2026, you’ll be able to apply for multiple positions that suit your interests.
Become a Peer Leader
All positions on this page will now use a central application, opening on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and closing on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Peer-to-peer leadership is at the heart of Yale College’s vibrant community. As a peer leader, you’ll join a group of upper-level students who offer guidance to other students on special topics and develop programming that benefits the entire undergraduate community. You will also prepare for lifelong leadership in your communities and professions.
Opportunities for peer leadership have expanded in recent years as these positions have become vital to fostering a strong sense of community on campus. The Yale College Peer Leaders Program celebrates these contributions by ensuring that every student has easy access to apply to these important roles.
All positions in the Yale College Peer Leaders Program can be accessed through one simplified, central application and timeline—no need to submit multiple applications. Included positions will continue to manage their own interview processes and to set job responsibilities and compensation. Roles included in the program typically involve working up to five hours per week during the term. Eligibility for a Peer Leader role is dependent on being in good academic and disciplinary standing, and your disciplinary history will be checked as part of the application process. All peer leaders must remain in good standing and be enrolled in Yale College throughout the duration of their time in the role.
